Default 2010 Clinic Dates

I really am new, not from Portland or Nigeria. I live in Warrior, north of Birmingham off I-65. I'm a long time watcher and reader of the SCCA and ALSCCA. I've never competed in any form of AutoX or organized competition.

I know I'll be running my car in "A" stock. I've been reading as many books as I can find on course racing.

My question is when, or if, there will be a driver control clinic in 2010 - and what all it will entail.

Thanks Guys.

Oh, and I'm also a big Suzuki Swift / Geo Metro fan. I hang out at www.teamswift.net along with ls1tech. I do an online magazine for the Swift community that just happens to share a similar name with a moderator here - Zukitech! (www.zukitech.com).. I came up with the name completely uninspired from that user, so I just thought I would go ahead and clear that up.

Up untill June of 2009 I was a technician at Birmingham Suzuki ...."zukitek".

The New Driver Car Control Clinic is an accident avoidance course we offer to teen drivers .Its not a competition driving school.

Come on out to an autox .We have one on Feb.27th

I consider myself to be a fairly safe and capable driver. I just figured since I've never had any sort of formal training or critiquing, that it might help.

I'm looking forward to the T&T.

Find us at the T&T and we'll go along for rides and give you critiques, and maybe give you some rides and talk you through what we are doing, so you can get a better idea of how everything runs.

We also have a novice class for drivers that have done fewer than 3 events. This allows you to compete with other novice for the entire season instead of getting thrown into a class with guys that have been doing this for 20 years. That way you can get some experience before you go up against them. We do a walk through in the morning plus we try very hard to have each novice, if they want to, ride with someone before they actually drive themselves. This helps a lot seeing the course at speed. So hope you will make it out in Feb!!!

Sara, you are like a mother hen with your novice's. Cracks me up!!!

Missed you on Sunday Sara, sorry to here you were feeling under the weather. Good to know that C is taking care of you, I guess he is like the daddy hen...there are several jokes I could make about that, including one with Vince and his trophy, but I'm not going to do that.

Hey Vern, this forum is for "new drivers", that is 15 & 16 year olds. But since you asked, the autocross track is the Birmingham Race Course, the "dog track", located in the Trussville Irondale area just off I-459 on John Rodgers Parkway.

Be there as early as you can; the gates will open at 7:00am.

Plus one on that. Got a young man in our church that parents want him to take course.

We are currently working with GDFB to set up some dates for fall. Expect the first clinic of 2010 to be in September.

Please put me on the notification list too. I have a couple of colleagues that are interested in registering their children.
