Formatting's flaky on the "select a specialty" page, and it's missing T&S in the drop-down. Probably a temporary aberration.

I was under the impression that scca members get in to scca races at no charge.

I know there was no charge at Nashville. Maybe this is just how Barber is setup. I wouldn't expect crew members or workers to pay.

I'm sure there is some way to work this out. Just report to registration with your membership card, and they'll help you through it.
The easiest way is for somebody to designate you as a guest. Each volunteer and driver is allowed 2 guests, IIRC. If you catch somebody in line, they may have a guest pass available to them which they haven't used, yet. Also, you could volunteer for a race specialty, such as Tech, Grid, Paccock, T&S, etc. and help out for a while.

it is unfortunate that the questions about SCCA members spectating came up on the day of move in to the track because the last thing I had time for was internet access. I was there from can to cant and just didnt have the energy for anything but sleep after I left the track.
If SCCA card carrying members were not admitted for free....I will make sure that changes. Did anyone who is an SCCA member who identified themselves as such have to pay a spectator fee? RR Last edited by zukitek; 09-05-2010 at 09:51 PM. |

If you arrive after registration closes, you're going to be out of luck, no matter what the policy is.

What Chuck says is true . The key is going to registration when the supps say that registration is open and getting an armband .At what point is your volunteer status in question at registration is all I am going to say .....let your own devices take over .
Barber gets the spectator proceeds . This is not regulated by AL or ARSCCA. ALand ARSCCA has the perogative to issue armbands at our discretion for "volunteers " whatever the capacity and crew members and whatever else we decide to do guest wise . I will put this on a list of notes being compiled to improve next years club race experience for the racers and the members of both regions . I didnt know ALSCCA members were paying spectator fees but I guess I still have things to learn as an RE ![]() RR |
